Train from China to Poland

In recent years, rail transport has become a popular method of intercontinental freight transport. It is not only cheaper than air transport, but also faster than transporting cargo by sea. Find out the details of rail transport from China to Poland!

Transport from China to Poland - why by train?

Strengthening trade between Poland and China is an important part of the New Silk Road initiative. Our country's strategic location makes it a transit point for transport corridors between Asia and Europe.

Economic relations between China and Poland revived after President Bronislaw Komorowski signed a strategic partnership agreement in the Middle Kingdom in 2011.

Goods from China to Poland are mainly transported by ship, car and train. However, in recent years, special emphasis has been placed on rail infrastructure. It is not only faster than sea transport, but also costs less than transporting goods by air.

Transit of cargo by train from China to Poland takes about 16 days - half the time of a cargo ship!

What do trains carry from China to Poland?

The goods most commonly transported by rail include:

- clothes;

- machine components

- electronic devices;

- food;

- car parts.

The development of rail transport is extremely dynamic. While only 17 trains travelled the China-Europe route in 2011, by 2019 there were more than 8,000 trains!

Important connections on the Poland-China route

Chengdu-Łódź

In December 2012, the Chengdu-Łódź rail link was launched. Since then, the capital of the Łódź Voivodeship has become an important transport hub connecting the Chinese city with European countries. As one of the first projects of its kind, it made a significant contribution to the Belt and Road Initiative.

It takes about 14 days to cover the rail route from Chengdu to Łódź.

Wuhan-Łódź

The rail route from Wuhan passes through central and north-eastern China and ends in Łódź. It takes approximately 15 days to transport cargo - a day longer than the transport from Chengdu.

From Wuhan to Lodz, mainly products of the Foxconn Group - a Taiwanese manufacturer of electronic components - are transported.

Xi'an-Malaszewicze

The Małaszewicze Transhipment Region is one of the key transit points throughout Europe. The vast majority of cargo that travels from China to Europe passes through here. Therefore, the Xi'an-Malaszewicze connection is a very important route for intercontinental trade.

A goods train travels from Xi'an to Malashevichi for 10-12 days.

Suzhou-Warsaw

The Suzhou-Warsaw route was developed as part of AsstrA's 'Transport by Rail from China' project. As part of this initiative, a goods train transports cargo by Trans-Siberian rail from China to the Polish capital. The journey takes around two weeks.

The New Silk Road has enormous economic potential, and Poland has been given the opportunity to become an important point on the China-Europe route. However, if we want to be part of this initiative, we need to continuously develop and improve our rail transport.
